My name is Marko, and Spot Free Rinse began from a simple frustration — washing my own cars at home and constantly battling water spots.
Like most Aussies, I washed my cars the usual way: rinse, soap, rinse, then rush with a towel before the sun dried minerals into marks. I’d try washing early before the sun hit the driveway, or wait until late afternoon and deal with mosquitoes. No matter what I tried, I still ended up with spots and streaks.
That’s when I started searching for a better solution.
A system used overseas — but unavailable in Australia
In the United States, detailers have been using compact DI rinse systems for years. They wash the car as normal, give one final rinse with purified water, and simply walk away. No drying. No wiping. No marks.
I tried to buy one in Australia and quickly realised they didn’t exist here.
So I began testing. Different resins. Different fittings. Different flow rates. I built several prototypes until I had a compact DI rinse system suited for Australian water, Australian pressure, and everyday Australian users.
The moment everything changed
The first time I rinsed my car with pure water and let it dry naturally, I honestly thought I’d missed a step.
But when it dried perfectly clear — no spots, no streaks, no effort — I knew this method needed to be available locally.
Not a commercial system.

But something portable that anyone could use with a garden hose.

I built Spot Free Rinse to bring a proven concept to Australia for the first time — a simple, portable, refillable DI rinse system for everyday car owners, caravan owners, boat owners, and home detailers.
