How water fed pole window cleaning works
A water fed pole puts a brush and a steady flow of water on the glass while you stay on the ground. You scrub the glass and frames, rinse with the same pole, and leave it to dry. No squeegee, and on most homes, no ladder. The part that makes it work is the water. Tap water is fine for scrubbing, but it was never meant to be the last thing on the glass, because its minerals stay behind when it dries. Rinse with pure water from a DI tank and there's nothing left to dry onto the glass.
What you need for a water fed window cleaning system
- A pure water tank. Our purification tanks come in Lite 10L ($499), Pro 15L ($699) and Commercial 25L ($999, special order). Each has the bypass head fitted, a TDS meter and a 2m connector hose, and runs on mains pressure with no power or pump.
- A pole and a window cleaning brush, water fed through the pole. The 22ft Hybrid Water Fed Pole Kit ($650) includes the 22ft hybrid pole, an adjustable angle brush with 6 jets (plus an angle adapter for other attachments), an 8m hose that runs through the pole and an on/off valve at the handle.
- A way to connect it all. Your own garden hose or hose reel runs from the tap to the tank and from the tank towards the pole. The pole kit comes with our Water Fed Pole Hose Adapter fitted at the handle, an on/off and flow control valve with a garden hose end, so it connects straight to the hose from your tank.

The 22ft hybrid pole
Hybrid means a blend of carbon and fibreglass. It's lighter than a full fibreglass pole and tougher than full carbon, which you notice when you're working it overhead for a full day. At 22ft it cleans second storey windows and can just reach some third storey glass. A 30ft pole is also available, contact us to order.
Solar panels, soft washing and mixed work
Solar panels get the same treatment as glass: scrub with the brush, rinse with pure water and let the panels dry clear. On a single storey with room around it you can often do them from the ground. Otherwise work from an extension ladder at the roof line, never on the roof. The solar panel cleaning range has the same gear grouped for panel work. If you run a soft washing or pressure washing business and pick up window jobs as well, one tank covers both, and our tanks are pressure washer compatible. The Commercial 25L suits higher output setups.
Make the resin go further
Resin is the running cost, so use it where it counts. On a cool, shady side, scrub the whole side with tap water through the bypass, switch to pure water, run the hose clear, then rinse the whole side pure. In full sun, skip the bypass and use pure water the whole way, because tap water dries on hot glass before the pure water gets there. How many litres a set of resin gives depends on your local tap water TDS, and the calculator on the tank page works it out from your postcode or a TDS reading. When the meter reading climbs, a resin replacement kit brings the tank back to pure water.

Common questions
Do I need a DI tank for a water fed pole?
If you want the glass to dry clear, yes. A water fed pole running plain tap water will scrub the glass, but the minerals in tap water stay on the glass as it dries and leave spots. Pure water from a DI tank has nothing left in it to dry onto the glass, so you rinse and leave it. Without pure water you're back to squeegeeing.
Can I clean second storey windows from the ground?
Yes. The 22ft Hybrid Water Fed Pole Kit cleans second storey windows from the ground and can just reach some third storey glass. You scrub and rinse through the same pole, so there's no ladder to move around the house. If most of your work is taller than that, a 30ft pole is available, contact us to order.
How do I connect a water fed pole to a DI tank?
Run your garden hose from the tap into the tank, then a second hose or a hose reel from the tank outlet towards the pole. The pole kit comes with our Water Fed Pole Hose Adapter fitted at the handle, an on/off and flow control valve with a garden hose end, so it connects straight to the hose from your tank.
Do you need to squeegee after water fed pole cleaning?
No. That's the point of rinsing with pure water. Scrub the glass and frames with the brush, then rinse the whole pane so no dirty water is left sitting on it. Pure water has no minerals to leave behind, so the glass dries clear on its own. Squeegeeing only comes back into it if you rinse with tap water.
How do I make DI resin last longer when window cleaning?

Can I use the same DI tank for windows and pressure washing?
Yes. Our tanks are pressure washer compatible, so a soft washing or pressure washing business can run the same tank for the final rinse on those jobs and for the pole on window jobs. Higher volume uses resin faster, so the Pro 15L or the Commercial 25L suits that kind of work better than the Lite.
