Each full kit includes HFR (High Flow Resin) mixed bed resin, a black extraction head, extraction tube and hose, a filling funnel with safety cap, a cloth collection bag and an instruction card with a QR code to the video. Kits are sized for Lite, Pro and Commercial tanks, plus older 5L Mini tanks.
Mixed-bed resin combines cation and anion resin to strip dissolved minerals — calcium, magnesium, iron and more — returning your tank to spot-free rinse water that reads 0 ppm TDS. Australian-owned, with resin always in stock and fast local shipping.
Common questions
How do I know when to replace the resin in my DI tank?
Fill the TDS meter's cap from the tank output, sit the meter in it and wait for the number to settle. A reading of 0 to 5 ppm means the resin is working. Between 6 and 10 ppm it's on its way out, so order a kit. Above 10 ppm, or if you notice very light spotting, it's time to replace it. The reading decides, not the calendar.
How long does DI resin last?
It comes down to your tap water, how much water your final rinse uses and your tank size. Harder water uses resin faster. Put your postcode or your own TDS reading into the calculator on the tank page to see how many litres to expect. Using pure water for the final rinse only, with the bypass for the wash, gets the most out of it.
What's the difference between the full kit and resin only?
The full kit includes the pre-measured resin plus the gear to do the swap: an extraction head, extraction tube and hose, a filling funnel with a safety cap, a cloth collection bag and an instruction card. That gear lasts, so after your first swap you only need the resin only option. Full kits start from $99.
How long does it take to replace DI resin?
About 15 minutes. Water pressure does the hard part, flushing the old resin up the extraction tube and into the collection bag. Then you pour in the fresh resin with the funnel. You'll need scissors to open the bags and a strip of masking tape over the centre tube while you pour. The instruction card in the kit links to a video and the written steps.
Which resin kit fits my tank?
Pick the kit that matches your tank size. The Lite takes 10L of resin (2 bags), the Pro 15L (3 bags) and the Commercial 25L (5 bags, special order). Older 5L Mini tanks take 1 bag. If you have the older 8L tank, take the Lite kit, which comes with 10L of resin.
What do I do with the old DI resin?
Hang the collection bag up to drain and let the resin dry, then tip it into another bag and put it in the general waste. Never wash resin down a drain. Keep the cloth bag, along with the rest of the kit gear, for your next resin replacement.
