Common questions
What are the essentials for a spot free wash at home?
A pure water tank, your garden hose and your usual wash gear. Wash with soap and tap water, rinse the soap off, then switch the bypass to pure water for the final rinse and let it dry. A telescopic wash mop helps on roofs and high sides. That's the whole setup.
Do I need the Tank Head With Bypass if I'm buying a new tank?
No. Every new tank comes with the bypass head already fitted. The Tank Head With Bypass is for owners of older Spot Free Rinse tanks that came with a filter only head, and it swaps straight on in place of the old one.
Why do water spots form after washing?
The water drop has to stop somewhere. When it stops, it evaporates, and the minerals it was carrying are left behind and dry hard onto the surface. That's the spot. Tap water is perfectly normal water, it just wasn't meant to be the last thing on your paint or glass. Rinse with pure water and there's nothing left to dry.
Can I use the same gear on my car and my windows?
Yes. The one tank feeds a garden hose for the car and the water fed pole for windows and solar panels. Run your own hose from the tank outlet to the car, or towards the pole, where the hose adapter that comes with the pole kit connects it straight to the hose. The same pure water rinse works on paint, glass and panels, so there's no need for a second system.
Can I start with a tank and add a water fed pole later?
Yes. The 22ft Hybrid Water Fed Pole Kit ($650) works with any Spot Free Rinse tank. Your garden hose runs from the tank to the pole, and the kit comes with our Water Fed Pole Hose Adapter at the handle to connect it. If you already know you want both, the tank and pole bundle saves $100 with the Lite or $150 with the Pro.
